We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Children's Home Manager to lead a children's home in Chatteris, supporting young people aged 10 to 18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
 
As the Children's Home Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring positive outcomes for the children and young people in your care. Your responsibilities will include:

·Creating a warm, nurturing, and therapeutic environment
·Safeguarding the well-being of children and young people
·Supporting young people to lead positive, fulfilling lives as they approach adulthood
·Overseeing the safe and effective management of the home, ensuring a secure and supportive environment for all
·Leading the development of the home, ensuring sustainable operations and fostering a skilled workforce committed to providing outstanding care
·Empowering and supporting staff to thrive in their roles while encouraging their professional development
·Engaging in safer recruitment practices
·Collaborating with external agencies, including OFSTED, local authorities, health, and education services
·Participating in the 24/7/365 service rota, including shift cover when needed
 
The Ideal Candidate:
 
You will have:
 
·Strong communication skills with the ability to relate to children and young people
·A solid understanding of child development and the physical and emotional needs of children
·Experience working with young people who may have experienced trauma or have attachment needs
·A commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement
·The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver high-quality services
·In-depth knowledge of safeguarding practices
·Previous experience in a similar setting and at a management level
·A full UK driving license
·A Level 5 qualification in Social Care or a willingness to work towards it (with support)
 
This position requires an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
