With a track record of excellence and a commitment to delivering high-quality projects, our client is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as an Estimator.
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the project team to assess requirements and prepare accurate cost estimates for groundworks and surfacing projects.
Conduct site surveys and gather necessary data to support the estimation process.
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
Prepare comprehensive and competitive tender submissions within designated deadlines.
Provide ongoing support to the project management team during the execution phase, offering insights into cost control and value engineering opportunities.
Requirements:
Proven experience in estimating within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on groundworks and surfacing projects.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as estimating software and Microsoft Office suite.
A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
While surfacing experience is desirable, candidates with a solid background in estimating within the construction industry will also be considered.
