We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join a well-established and successful construction materials testing company. Our client works collaboratively with clients throughout the whole project lifecycle, offering comprehensive and bespoke construction testing service packages.
Hours: 40-hour week
Duties & Responsibilities
Implement, and promote practical and effective methods of health and safety practices in the workplace
Support the business with accident and incident management as and when required by recording, reporting and investigating into all accidents, identify trends and provide advice to management to avoid escalations
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.
To assist in development of appropriate method statements and construction phase plans
To recommend and advise on first aid and fire safety representatives for all sites
To recommend and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees
Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring thorough documentation and recommending corrective actions.
Liaise with and provide support to all areas of the business to eliminate, mitigate or reduce identified HSE exposures.
Monitor and review competencies of staff, reviewing equipment against PUWER for its suitability and effectiveness for the processes in which it is used for
Education
Professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, NCRQ, NEBOSH
IRCA Internal Auditor
Knowledge and experience of construction and/or materials testing related activities, risks and hazards gained over a 3-year period.
Demonstratable experience in environmental compliance and sustainability
In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards and best practise.
