Atrium Healthcare are currently recruiting on behalf of a client for a Registered Manager Children's Residential to join a children's residential home. The home supports Children and Young People aged 10-18 years with Challenging and Emotional Behavioural difficulties of mixed gender.
About the role:
·Overseeing the day-to-day running of the home including clear and effective procedures for monitoring and controlling the activities of the home, the financial viability of the home, any serious incident, allegations or complaints about the provision, and the quality of the provision.
·Ensuring that all staff working within the home provide a consistent service to the young people resident in the home. Staff working in the home should work consistently within the framework of relevant legislation and the home's policies and procedures.
·Ensuring all staff has appropriate and accurate job descriptions and as such are clear about their roles and responsibilities and lines of accountability.
·Making sure the training and development of care staff and others as required.
·Overseeing the required paperwork related to managing a children's home.
·Regular monitoring, in line with regulations, of all records kept by the home to ensure compliance with the home's policies, to identify any concerns about specific incidents, and to identify patterns and trends. This includes relevant policies, statement of purpose, children's guide, individual young people case files, supervisions, training records, financial budgetary information, complaints, incident reports, and anything else stated as required in the appropriate legislation or requested for a specific young person, subject to agreement with the placing authority.
·Facilitate inspection visits from regulatory bodies and routine regulation 44 inspections ensuring all relevant information is accessible and easily available. The Registered Manager should act on and share all recommendations from these visits with staff, young people, parents, local authorities, and other interested parties.
·Supporting staff in their interactions with young people, attending and chair multi-disciplinary meetings, team meetings, house meetings, attending Looked After Child reviews, Personal Education Plan reviews, and other meetings at the request of the local authority, conduct debriefs and reflective practice when necessary.
 
Desirable:
·Hold a Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent qualification.
·Have financial expertise to ensure the home is run on a sound financial basis including long-term financial viability of the home.
·Be an experienced Registered Manager.
 
Essential:
·Hold a Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People's Workforce, or equivalent.
·Have at Least 2 years' Experience of working in a Residential Children's Home.
·Have current knowledge of childcare and child protection laws.
·Have at least 2 years' experience supervising and managing professional staff
